The Convert

A fight for peace. A heart at war.

Set in the lush, untamed landscape of 1830s New Zealand, a lay preacher arrives at a British settlement. His violent past is soon drawn into question and his faith put to the test, as he finds himself caught in the middle of a bloody war between Maori tribes. Directed by Lee Tamahori, the film paints a vivid picture of a land and its people at a crossroads.

Alongside Australian Composer Matteo Zingales, I contributed additional music, unsettling musical sound design, and an immersive imagining of the vibrant birdsong of pre-predator New Zealand to this dark historical drama.
